Today I’ve opened a rarely used file on my computer. And got the weirdest message in ages: ”file is locked because you haven’t made any changes to it recently”. After a quick search I became apparent Apple has a new feature to auto-lock files.
How to disable the feature

My MacBook pro with Os X Lion is very slow when coming out off suspension.

File sharing between computers at my home use smb/ samba connection. I also have an Apple Macbook, so why use a protocol by Microsoft? I’m using the Apple FileVault encryption tool that comes with Leopard as standard. There are a view problems with it.
One of them is: “resetting default applications preferences”. Extensions in Leopard are linked to Applications. The FileVault has a bug. It’s possible to change the extension preference but when restarting all defaults will reset.
